Chronicle Backstory SIEM

Chronicle Security, a cybersecurity outfit, owned by Google's parent company Alphabet, has launched Backstory, a cloud based SIEM (or, as they call it in their marketing one-sheet, a  global security telemetry platform) that's specifically designed for investigation and threat hunting within an enterprise network.

Details are still pretty scares but Backstory is built on Google infrastructure. It'll be pretty speedy and almost infinitely scalable. Because it's in the cloud it'll require zero customer hardware, maintenance or ongoing management unnecessary.

We'll be diving more into Backstory over the next few weeks and we'll be offering more of an in-depth look as soon as we can. We're quite interested to see how a service like Backstory could work with our own SOAPA, our SIEM replacement solution.
